June 4th, 2014, the coordination of the NutriNet-Santé study published a press release further to the publication of an article in the international scientific journal : Journal of Nutrition. Géraldine Camilleri (PhD student) and Sandrine Péneau (Researcher - Paris 13 university) highlighted, in the NutriNet-Santé cohort, the fact that emotional eating is a behaviour frequently observed in the population, particularly among women and the people presenting depressive symptoms.
The fact that emotional eating is associated with a stronger consumption of energy-dense snack food was also advanced, especially consumption of sweet-and-fatty food.
Let us note that this association is particularly strong at the woman's presenting depressive symptoms.
